FAQs
(Please check out our Covid Procedures)
Q: How do I begin?
A: Look at the online schedule and decide what class time and level will fit best. If you are new to Yoga, or even new to alignment yoga, we recommend you take a Basic class to start. Now, you can create an online account, purchase your first class, and register through the online scheduler.
Q: Do I need to sign up or make a reservation before class?
A: Yes and No! Virtual classes require pre-registering in order to receive the class link in time for class. We accept walk-ins for in-person classes.
Q: Do you have an app?
A: As a student, you can use the Momence.com app. This is the scheduling and booking software we use. You can download it here. iOS| ANDROID
Q: How much is one class?
A: One class is $29. We offer a 10% discount for fully matriculated (full-time) students , seniors over 65 and veterans. We have a new student package; 3 weeks of Unlimited Yoga for $59. Click here for our New Student Waiver.
Q: What are your policies?
A: No refunds, only studio credit. Our class cards DO have expiration dates.
If you have signed up for the Unlimited Package, it is not a contract, you can cancel at any time with two (2) weeks’ written notice. It will, however, charge monthly, until you send written notice to info@yogamechanics.com.
If you do not send written notice of your wish to cancel, then any lost months are your responsibility. Thank you for respecting our policies.
We will be enforcing late cancellations during this time. If you are going to miss a class, we ask that you please remove yourself or email us at info@yogamechanics.com as soon as possible and we will remove you from the roster.
In terms of all Teacher Trainings, the deposit is non-refundable. Once training starts, participants have a 2-week window to withdraw from the training. We ask all trainees to consider this commitment seriously. We hold to these policies to ensure the success of all trainings.
Q: Is this Hot Yoga?
A: No. Our rooms are comfortably set between 70-80 degrees. This warm room encourages movement without intensity. We move through the poses, building heat from the inside out.
Q: I am not Flexible. Can I still take Yoga?
A: Inflexibility or even over-flexibility are exactly why you DO take yoga. Yoga Mechanics proudly welcomes everyBODY and has an excellent staff that will help you build both strength and flexibility. We are well trained to offer modifications and specific adjustments to help you in every pose, no matter what.
Q: What classes should I take?
A: If you are new to Yoga Mechanics, we recommend you start by taking a Basic class. Even if you have a 10-year practice of another style, the vocabulary and alignment cues will be new. Give yourself time to orient. If you are brand new to Yoga in general, the Basic class is also the best place to be. If you are recovering from an injury, pregnancy, or just re-introducing movement into your life, start slow. Gentle and Restorative classes will be the nicest way to ease back in.
Q: What do I need to bring to my first class?
A: A mat & fully functional clothing, something you will be comfortable in and something slightly form-fitting. If you don’t have a mat, we have one for your use. Your first week is on us. After that, we charge $2 per use.
Q: Can my guest use a class on my package?
A: We allow the sharing of standard class card packages between families and spouses. New Student Offers and Monthly Unlimiteds are excluded and cannot be shared. For any exceptions, please email info@yogamechanics.com.
Q: My card expired and I still had classes left can I still use them?
A: In order to sustain our yoga studio and to inspire a consistent yoga practice, we stand by our expiration dates. For class card extensions or questions please email info@yogamechanics.com.
Q: How old does my child need to be to attend a regular class?
A: 16 & 17-year-olds can attend regular classes with a guardian present. 18 and over can attend any class.
Q: Where do I park?
A: We have street parking, as the lot is a tenant lot only. Allow enough time to acclimate yourself to the parking situation. If you have specific questions, please call that studio directly. Please check the street/ parking lot signs when parking.
Q: I am pregnant. Can I practice Yoga?
A: Congratulations and Yes! When you are pregnant, there are modifications that must be made in a normal yoga class. All of our teachers are trained and can help you with this. It is very important to quietly let your teacher know prior to the start of class so they can offer you the necessary adjustments. For more comprehensive care, we recommend a private session (via info@yogamechanics.com) and then easing into Yoga classes will be quite easy.
